It’s been said that some people come into your life for a reason, some for a season and some for a lifetime. The problem with us as people is that we often have a hard time distinguishing which is true. When we build relationships with others, we give of ourselves to the point of no return…or so it seems.
There is no better time than NOW to take inventory of your circle of friends, your connections in the workplace, your business network or your romantic interests. Everyone and everything around you should point you in the direction of doing better and being better. And if they are not serving you well, it may be time to remove yourself.
Allow yourself the freedom to let go of the propel and the things that serve you no good. You don’t have to explain to someone why you’re no longer going to be present for them. Every departure doesn’t require a falling out.
If you need a little help deciding what time it is in your life, take these tips into consideration.
1. You are comfortable.
What’s comfortable? Being on auto-pilot with your personal and professional lives. Auto-pilot is when you wake up and your day and work is predictable, and you are happy with it. The things you do don’t set you back but they don’t challenge you or encourage your growth. When you find yourself settling into a thing, it’s time to stretch yourself. It’s okay to be uncomfortable because that’s where the breakthrough to your where your next level of living lies.
2. You are often drained of energy.
When your life is out of alignment, you’ll often find yourself dealing with people who drain your energy. Even the places you go will seem energy draining. Feeling this way is a sure sign that something needs to change. If you’re someone who typically sees the silver lining in the clouds or envision the glass half full yet you find yourself being in the space of negativity, your energy is misplaced and needs cleansing. Something needs to go. Pinpoint where a change needs to be made and take measures to remove the things that drain you.
3. You keep feeling that there is more to life.
If you think that “more” is out there waiting for you, you are right! There is more excitement, more joy, more peace, more money, and overall, more to do! You are not created to do the bare minimum and be okay. You were created to live and thrive in abundance. It’s time out just for feeling it; it’s time to do something to get something!
If you find yourself hurting to make someone else happy, it’s time to let go. If you find yourself questioning if you are truly happy with where you are in life right now, it’s time to let something go. If you find yourself feeling lighter after releasing that toxic friendship that you’ve nurtured for years…congratulations.
To make it to where you desire to be in life, you have to remove negativity and release old baggage. Walk into your newness with power! It is okay to go at it alone.
