The BMW 8 Series was a series of luxury coupes that combined power with amazing craftsmanship. After being off the market for nearly 20 years, BMW is set to bring the 8 Series back for 2018. However, the engineers and developers at BMW M, (Motorsport Series) have been working alongside the 8 Series. This joint project has culminated in the BMW M8.
This camouflaged, prototype made a stunning debut at the Nurburgring 24-Hour racing event. While many of the specs are still under wraps, the M8’s larger air intakes, quad-exhaust pipes, and modified brakes hint that there is some amazing power under the hood. It looks to have the power of a race car, but the interior is still luxurious and ultra-modern.
BMW Motorsports is also planning on getting back into the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. They’re developing the BMW M8 GTE specifically for that purpose. There aren’t any pictures or footage of the BMW M8 GTE yet, but the anticipation is high. They plan to debut the new race car in January 2018 at the Daytona 24 Hours. Check back for updates!
