WOMEN’S GOLF DAY IN GEORGIA

Posted on May 18, 2017, 6:21 pm
It brings us great pleasure to announce Women’s Golf Day In Georgia for the very first time in history of the state of Georgia. Women’s Golf Day In Georgia will honor and celebrate female golfers statewide. Patrina King, founder of Golf Women in Business, advocated to the Georgia General Assembly to approve her state resolution to have June 6, 2017 recognized as Women’s Golf Day in Georgia.

“The resolution is important because women contribute so much to the sport of golf worldwide, but the perception still remains that golf is for men. Having just a single day for the women’s golf community, specifically in Georgia, will allow us to rally together and let the state, the nation, and the world know that we do exist and we boldly exist,” says Patrina King.

Patrina King has been an avid golfer since the age of seven. She recently won first place in the Women’s Championship Flight and was featured on the Golf Channel for the National Black Golf Hall of Fame Golf Tournament. Not only is Patrina King known for her contributions toward golf, but she speaks to corporate resource groups about the sport in an effort to grow the game through women. “I attribute the game of golf as being a great avenue to meeting target businesses during my career, says Patrina King.

Women’s Golf Day In Georgia will also runs in concurrence with National Women’s Golf Day. Patrina King is also the Co-Founder of Women’s Golf Day in Fulton County. According to the Golf Women Mean Business website, golf education companies, club managers, teaching professionals, and amateur associations in Georgia will work together to promote the game of golf. Together they will enhance access to golf, raise public understanding and have an appreciation of women’s contributions to the state’s business and golf communities. Patrina King encourages women to come on June 6th to the Georgia State Capitol, located 18 Capital Ave SW Atlanta GA, to share in a day’s activities, meet other women golfers from around Georgia and have a photo opportunity on the state’s Capitol steps.
